Ive been gaming since 1977 and I truly never thought Id see the day when I felt like I was in the game. Ive tried out a couple of VR helmets in the past and they were nothing but a tiny screen in front of my face. The Virtual Boy was playable for about 5 minutes before I had to take it off due to eye strain. Was I ever going to be completely immersed in a video game ala Holodeck or The Matrix? I didnt think so, at least not until PAX Prime 2012 at the Oculus meeting room on level 2A.
