By now it is quite likely that you’ve collected every puzzle piece, completed StreetPass Quest and unlocked every hat for your Mii character in StreetPass Mii Plaza. With nothing left to spend Play Coins on or gain from StreetPassing other Nintendo 3DS owners, people don’t seem to be taking their systems out with them as much as they used to. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata understands this and is planning a solution to the problem.
Available before the end of the year will be a new update to the Nintendo 3DS firmware which will add some exciting new features to the StreetPass Mii Plaza. It isn’t know exactly what these new features will contain but Nintendo are hoping to get consumers excited about StreetPass and Play Coins again like they first were when they system launched back in March.
Nintendo may be planning to add some new puzzles to complete in Puzzle Swap, some new dungeons to traverse through in StreetPass Quest, or we may even end up with a totally new experience all together.
Iwata finished off by stating he understands that Mii characters haven’t really been utilised by many games on the Nintendo 3DS. Various titles that incorporate Mii characters are in the works though and are scheduled to launch both by the end of this year and over the course of 2012.
